Panasonic, which entered the local market with Shun Hing's founding, are in fact jointly celebrating their 55th years of continued presence in Hong Kong.

Dr. William Mong said, "Firmly rooted in Hong Kong, I can proudly say Shun Hing is one of the territory's successful enterprises. One must agree that it was we who introduced the radio, rice cooker, washing machine, microwave oven and television to the people of Hong Kong, thereby altering the way they live, bringing entertainment into their household, and also improving their quality of life. Panasonic's distinct image is deeply ingrained in the minds of local citizens."

"On this auspicious night of celebration," The Chairman continued, "I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Hong Kong people, and also Panasonic Corporation, Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC), and other product suppliers for their warm and unfailing support of Shun Hing throughout these years. Thanks also go to the many front line sales agents who have been working hand in glove with us for such a long time, and the dedication of all our staff also deserves a special note of gratitude."

The dinner was highlighted by musical performances by Dr. Mong's youngest daughter, Perlie and other artists. Perlie played familiar pieces on the piano and later accompanied famous soprano Ms Jane Yang in her rendering of well-known pieces. These were followed by a captivating performance by world-renowned violinist Mr Lu Siqing which mesmerized all those present, and many oldies sung by Ms Elisa Chan which brought the entertainment interlude to an enraptured finish.

He also paid tribute to his father, who was totally dedicated and indefatigable in his management of Shun Hing Group in the past fifty years which has kept the company growing, and also Dr. Mong's many philanthropic undertakings.
