Celebrities get together on 2009 Panasonic Cup Race Day

The Panasonic Cup Race Day came to a successful end on 7 November 2009 at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Group Mr & Mrs David Mong, Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. Ms Cynthia Mong and Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Ms Cheung Man-yee played hosts to the guests at the Jockey Club Box. Shun Hing Group also invited world-renowned violinist Mr Lu Siqing and oboeist Mr James Huang to perform pieces of music for the guests as highlight of the day.

It was the 26th consecutive year for Shun Hing Group to sponsor the Panasonic Cup Race Day. The Panasonic Cup was Race 8 of the day with a distance of 1,400 metres and the stake money amounting to HK$1,750,000. The Cup was won by "White Jade" under the crop of Mr Howard Cheng after a very close and exciting run. After the race, Associate Director of Corporation Management Division for China and Northeast Asia, Panasonic Corporation Mr Tetsu Kimoto, Ms Cynthia Mong and Mrs Emi Mong presented the trophies to the winning horse owner, trainer and jockey.

During this year's event, new Panasonic plasma iDTVs measuring 50", 54" and 65" were installed at the Members' Enclosure to let the audiences enjoy the races in high-definition images. Besides, Shun Hing Group placed many sets of Panasonic JOBA at the paddock ring to allow race goers experience the fun and thrill of horse riding. The event was highlighted by "Panasonic Shopping Experience", an exclusive offer and privilege for the Hong Kong Jockey Club members on buying audio visual, home appliances, health and beauty care products, including plasma and LCD iDTV, massage lounger, digital camera, warm jar, alkaline ionizer and air purifier at very special offer.
