Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Cash Awards Presentation Ceremony to Hong Kong Meritorious Athletes at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games

Eleven Hong Kong meritorious athletes at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games received a total of HK$500,000 cash awards at Olympic House today from Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund's contribution at the Presentation Ceremony held by Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC).

Mr. Victor Hui, GBS, JP, Acting President of SF&OC, and Mr. David Mong, Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Group cum Chairman of the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund, officiated at the ceremony.

Recipients of the awards have brought Hong Kong sports to the forefront of international sports through their zeal and effort. They included six medalists including Ng Tsz Yau (Badminton), Chien Kei Hsu Albert (Fencing), Choi Chun Yin Ryan (Fencing), Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (Swimming), Doo Hoi Kem (Table Tennis), Hung Ka Tak (Table Tennis) and five outstanding athletes ranked 4th to 8th including Choi Wing Chi Sandy (Windsurfing), Chan Tsz Kit (Windsurfing), Chiang Lennard (Equestrian), Lam Michael (Triathlon) and Lee Cheuk Yiu (Badminton) in Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

The Hong Kong athlete in team event in Nanjing Youth Olympic Games who won a gold medal might share an award amount of HK$220,000, while HK$110,000 for a silver medal and HK$55,000 for a bronze medal respectively. For individual event, each Hong Kong silver medalist was awarded HK$55,000 and HK$27,500 for bronze medalist respectively. Each meritorious athlete (other than medalists of Nanjing Youth Olympic Games) ranked 4th to 8th was awarded HK$1,000.
