Presentation Ceremony of Panasonic Sports Scholarship Programme for Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Panasonic has been the Olympic Partner of the International Olympic Committee for years and has always stood in the forefront in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.  Since 2010, the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (Federation) jointly organized with Shun Hing Group /Panasonic in offering financial support to Hong Kong athletes of individual Olympic sports to better prepare them for qualifying quota in the coming Olympic and Asian Games.  This year, Panasonic Sports Scholarship Programme for Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Scholarship Programme) would be awarded to 10 athletes with great potential to participate in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Presentation Ceremony of Scholarship Programme was successfully concluded on 14 April 2015 at the Olympic House.  Prestigious guests supporting this glamorous event included the Hon. Ma Fung Kwok, SBS, JP, Legislative Councillor (Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication) and the Elected Officers of SF&OC.  Mr David Mong, Chairman and Group CEO of Shun Hing Group presented the 1.5 million cheque to the Scholarship holders.  Each Scholarship holder receives a subsidy of HK$150,000 within a 18-month period from 1 March 2015 to 31 August 2016, right before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

"We are excited to greet the Scholarship holders and through this Scholarship Programme, not only does it benefit Hong Kong athletes and but also congruent with Shun Hing Group's mission as a keen supporter of sports activities" said Mr David Mong, Chairman and Group CEO of Shun Hing Group.

Hong Kong, China Rowing Association - Mr Tang Chiu Mang
Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association - *Miss Sze Hang Yu   
Hong Kong Table Tennis Association - *Mr Wong Chun Ting
Hong Kong Tennis Association Limited - Miss Zhang Ling
Hong Kong Triathlon Association - *Mr Wong Hui Wai
Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong - *Miss Chan Hei Man Hayley Victoria
Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong - *Mr Leung Ho Tsun Andy
*Six scholarship holders awarded the Scholarship for the first time.
