Dr. William Mong Man Wai, founder and Chairman of Shun Hing
Group passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 21st July 2010. The
funeral liturgy was held on Friday, 30th July 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at
the Hong Kong Funeral Home with around 600 friends and relatives
attended the funeral liturgy. Pallbearers included Mr. John Tsang,
Financial Secretary of HKSAR; Mr. Sakamoto Toshihiro, Vice
President of Panasonic Corporation; Professor Lap-Chee Tsui,
Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of Hong Kong; Mr.
Daisuke Matsunaga, Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong
(Acting); Dr. Chow Yei Ching, Chairman of Chevalier Group;
Professor Chen Jining, Vice President of Tsinghua University;
Professor Li Yansong, Vice President of Peking University;
Professor Pan Yong-hua, Director General of Education; Science and
Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's
Government in the HKSAR; Mr. Michael Chan, JP; Professor John C. Y.
Leong, President of The Open University of Hong Kong.
On Thursday, 29th July 2010, the vigil was held at same venue. Mr. & Mrs. Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of HKSAR attended the vigil to paid his last respects to Dr. Mong and offered his condolences to his family.
The Rite of Committal was carried out thereafter at the Cape Collinson Crematorium. The Shun Hing Group would like to express its gratitude towards the offer of sympathies from friends, relatives, business partners and members of the public. While still in grief of the loss of Dr. Mong, we pledge to follow Dr. Mong's motto "trust comes prosperity" and safeguard the success of the company now and in the future.
