Hong Kong Baptist University Presented the Degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa to Mr David Mong

The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) presented the Honorary Doctoral Degrees to four distinguished persons in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their fields and remarkable contributions to society on 14 November 2016. They are Mr David Mong (Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa), Professor Elizabeth M Daley (Doctor of Letters, honoris causa), Professor Martin Hairer (Doctor of Science, honoris causa) and Professor Valerie Smith (Doctor of Letters, honoris causa).

Mr David Mong, Chairman and CEO of Shun Hing Group, has devoted himself to community service and supported numerous projects in education, medical services, sports, community services, cultural events and arts in Hong Kong and around the world. Mr Mong is a longstanding supporter of Hong Kong Baptist University. He served as a member of the University Council, and is currently a member of the Board of Governors and the Entrepreneur Committee of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation.
